Want to contribute an auction item but need a little inspiration to get your creative juices flowing?
Given the goals of the auction, which are to:
- create connections between people who know and love José
- encourage others to #LiveLikeJosé through immersive experiences—especially activities rooted in food, music, art, nature, and discovery—and trying new things
- raise funds to support José and Jen, allowing them to continue making decisions based on the best care options available for people living with ALS
We encourage you to think differently than the typical items on offer at silent auctions!
What might you (or someone you know) be able to create, host, lead, or teach that would achieve one or more of the above goals? For those who know José, what is something that he would enjoy doing or experiencing or would make him smile?
Here are some ideas for inspiration:
- Let your culinary talents shine and meet new friends over a homecooked meal
- Lead an informal lesson or demonstration in the kitchen, studio, or on stage
- Create and gift a piece of art or other handcrafted item
- Uncork that special bottle you’ve been saving and savor it with company
- Tap your network for a behind-the-scenes tour of a local landmark
- Host an intimate sunset sail
- Organize or lead an ikebana or lei-making workshop
- Invite someone to tag along on one of your favorite pastimes— indoors or outdoors
- Gift a membership or tickets to a concert, performance, museum, or exhibit
- Coordinate a walking and/or snorkeling wildlife watching experience
