Soaring through the air like Superman!

As we shared earlier this month, the ceiling lift installation was completed on Aug. 2. Since then, the day we’ve eagerly awaited finally arrived! This week, Damian from Thrive For Life was able to train Jen on the proper use of the lift to transfer me from my recliner, where I spend the majority of my time when I’m at home, to the various wheelchairs that I use day to day–including my power wheelchair, shower chair, and commode chair.

The system is very easy to use, comfortable, and has lessened the load on Jennifer’s body when it comes to my transfers. It is also safer and smoother for both of us. I feel like I’m flying through the air like Superman!

This ceiling lift was made possible by everyone who contributed to our recent GoFundMe campaign stretch goal, which raised the funds to purchase and install this crucial piece of equipment, including an unanticipated and unbudgeted structural assessment that brought the total cost just over $17,000.
