The day is finally here. Friends, family, and colleagues will gather at Central Florida Public Media (formerly WMFE) from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. for a second celebration of life.
As some of you know, I made the difficult decision not to be there today. For anyone else who cannot be there in person, for any reason, you’re invited to take a few minutes to remember José today: sit with your favorite memories, light a candle, tell a cheesy joke, make a toast, or enjoy a quiet moment. Whatever feels right for you.
But most importantly, know how much he loved you. Even better, find a way to make someone else laugh or feel special today.
For those who will be in attendance and see this note, if you happen to snap a few photos or capture any video clips, please take a moment to upload them here.
José’s children and sisters have coordinated all the logistics and are looking forward to seeing old friends, extended family, and meeting some of you for the first time while celebrating his life, accomplishments, and legacy.
More on what’s next soon.

Jose know you’re my mentor my inspiration to keep fighting for my recovery. Know that you are my strength to accept my limitations, the changes in my life and so many adjustments I’ve had to endure. That when I need my wheelchair and get all anxious I think of you. We had several conversations and I hold them in my heart. Always in my thoughts, prayers and I know from heaven your friendships is presents. Thank you 🙏 🤲 🕊 ❤️
