🌍 Join the fun

One of the things we’d planned to do as part of the online auction was to send everyone who participated a “José fan” — essentially, a photo of José on a popsicle stick— so that folks who gathered in person through auction experiences could take a photo with him. The concept was inspired in part by the Flat Stanley project which many folks are familiar with.

While we’re a bit late getting them out, please know they are headed your way soon!

We’ve been retroactively building out a mailing list of everyone who contributed or won an auction item, and would ALSO like to include everyone else who considers themselves part of #TeamJosé.

Whether you’re a regular reader of this blog, have supported our GoFundMe, helped out as a lunch buddy, shared our story, responded to any of the advocacy opportunities we’ve shared, or are connected in any way – we would love to send you a packet!

How it works:

This means more than you know

While it may seem like a silly thing to do, we know that it creates more reasons for folks to keep in touch. Friends, colleagues, and even family members sometimes express concern that they don’t want to impose or are unsure how best to communicate. Sometimes this means we stop hearing from them.

Sending a photo is a meaningful way to keep in touch and let José know you’re thinking about him, whether you include a message or not.

It’s also a great way for José to get a taste of some of his favorite things that are harder for him to experience firsthand these days—like travel, getting lost in museum galleries, trying new restaurants, enjoying live music and performing arts, and the great outdoors.
